Good news is coming for the people of Jhansi. The city will soon get a well-equipped divisional hospital. This hospital will have modern facilities. It may also include a special 100-bed cancer wing. This will help thousands of patients who currently travel to other cities for treatment.
The announcement was made after a big meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was held by senior health officials from Uttar Pradesh. They reviewed health services in the Jhansi and Chitrakoot divisions.
A Marathon Meeting
The meeting was led by Amit Kumar Ghosh. He is the Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Health, Family Welfare, and Medical Education for Uttar Pradesh. He was accompanied by his team. Pinky Jowel, the Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), was also present.
The meeting was long and detailed. Officials called it a “marathon meeting”. They discussed many issues. The goal was to improve healthcare quality. They want to move away from punishment-based inspections. Instead, they want a supportive and mentoring approach. This is part of a statewide program called Supportive Supervision System.
A New Divisional Hospital with Cancer Wing
During the meeting, a big promise was made. The government assured that Jhansi will get a well-equipped divisional hospital. This hospital will make healthcare more accessible. People will not have to travel far for good treatment.
The most important part of this plan is the cancer wing. Officials said the proposed facility may include a 100-bed cancer wing. Cancer patients in the Bundelkhand region face many problems. They often go to Lucknow, Delhi, or Mumbai for treatment. This is expensive and difficult. A cancer wing in Jhansi will save lives and money.
Land Will Be Made Available
The divisional commissioner of Jhansi, Bimal Kumar Dubey, was also at the meeting. He gave a strong assurance. He said land for the project will be made available. This is a key step. Without land, no hospital can be built. Now that hurdle is being cleared.
No Compromise on Quality Healthcare
Amit Kumar Ghosh repeated the government’s commitment. He said no compromise will be made in providing quality healthcare to the poor. He gave clear orders to officials.
He asked them to ensure immediate deployment of MBBS doctors at the local level. He also said a waiting list should be maintained. This will avoid shortages when doctors are needed.
Jhansi’s Innovations Appreciated
The meeting also praised some new ideas from Jhansi. The district created a monthly evaluation format for health services. This format helps track how well hospitals are working. Officials liked it so much that they decided to use it across all of Uttar Pradesh.
Basic Life Support (BLS) training was also appreciated. This training teaches doctors and nurses how to handle emergencies. It can save lives in critical moments.
Praise for Lalitpur’s Child Healthcare
The efforts of Dr. Raj Narayan were also praised. He is the Chief Medical Superintendent of Lalitpur. He has delivered quality child healthcare services in his district. He set an example for others to follow. His work shows what dedication can achieve.
Strict Action for Negligence
Pinky Jowel, the NHM Mission Director, spoke very clearly. She said any negligence in patient care will not be tolerated. She instructed that Ayushman Arogya Mandirs must open on time. These are government health centers. If they are found closed, strict action will be taken.
Old Hospital Needs Repair
Earlier, on Tuesday late night, Ghosh visited the district hospital in Jhansi. He spoke to reporters there. He pointed out that the hospital building is very old. It needs renovation. He said more cleanliness, painting, and repair work is required.
He also gave a strict order. He said patients should not be asked to buy medicines from outside. The government has allocated an adequate budget for medicines. Under no circumstances should patients have to purchase them on their own.
Rodents and Pests
A reporter asked about rodents and pests in the hospital. Ghosh said such things should be removed immediately. They are critical in spreading diseases. Cleanliness is not a luxury. It is a necessity in a hospital.
Shortage of Doctors Will Be Fixed
Ghosh also assured that the shortage of doctors and other amenities will be removed. He said the government is aware of the problems. They are working on solutions. The supportive supervision system is a statewide effort. It aims to fix issues step by step.
A Bright Future for Jhansi
The new divisional hospital and cancer wing will change healthcare in the region. For years, people of Bundelkhand have struggled. Now, there is hope. With land assured, funds allocated, and strict monitoring in place, the project looks promising.
The people of Jhansi are waiting eagerly. If all goes well, they will soon have a hospital they can be proud of.
